Category

Appearance Reproduction

We have developed an appearance reproduction based on the Computer Graphics, and try to changes material perception such as color, reflection, and surface roughness of mock-up by using a projector. This research is performed jointly with Chiba University.

3D Vision

We have researched 3D Vision such as material perception, fatigue, and depth perception by using a binocular stereo system. Especcially, we are very interesting in specular stereo model proposed by A. Blake. This research is performed jointly with Chiba University.

Multi-spectral Color

We have researched multi spectral method for measurement and color matching. Especially, we develop matching method among various media such as camera, projector, display, and printing. This research is performed jointly with Chiba University.

Measurement for Material Appearance

We have developed a method to measure various reflection characteristics (BRDF) for the material of the object with high accuracy and high efficiency. Our method focuses on dimension reduction based on several camera shots.

Mixed Reality

We have researched perceptual matching about geometric and optical method in mixed reality. We use feature points detected by image processing and reproduce various appearance with computer graphics. This techniques will be useful for interaction and user interface.

Recognition for human behavior

We have developed user interface and interaction with computer by using detection and recognition of human action. Our main target is hands and facial expressions. We believe that there is an purpose and/or message in human behavior certainly. The development of wise computing is our final target.

Inspection for Psychogenetic Fatigue

We believe that a movement of eye is influenced by function of human brain. According to this assumption, we researched eye movement under the mental fatigue condition. The aim of this research is to make the prediction rule in everyday life. This research is performed jointly with Tokyo Metropolitan University.

Education Support System

The popuse of this research is development for education support system by using mobile phone and/or tablet computer. The electronic textbook and notebook is useful for undersitanding by student. Furthermore, we consider nobel functions with these electronic devices, such as digital pen, web cam, and sound system. This research is performed jointly withTokyo Metropolitan.
